Research
Our research is guided by a One Health approach which recognises the interconnectedness between animal health, human health and the environment. As such as we are an interdisciplinary team and are considering holistic interventions.
We want to better understand the very many factors that lead to increased disease risk for people and chickens as they relate to chicken production systems at different stages of intensification.
To achieve this, our One Health interdisciplinary team is considering the biological processes occurring in these different production systems, as well as the socioeconomic processes and behaviours that underlie the different intensification models.
We are also undertaking policy analysis as we seek pragmatic, adaptable and innovative interventions that consider the technical, behavioural and regulatory contexts.
