Professor Tahmina Shirin is the Director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control & Research (IEDCR) and the National Influenza Centre (NIC) in Bangladesh. Professor Shirin is involved in the Hub’s research on human health in Bangladesh. As Chair of the Coordination Committee for One Health Secretariat in Bangladesh, she is responsible for coordinating the Hub’s One Health activities among government stakeholders. She leads on policy guidance and decision making for long-term sustainability and impact of the Hub.
Professor Shirin’s experience in working in the field of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and Immunology focused on innate immune responses. She is involved in the Institute for Developing Science and Health Initiatives (ideSHi) in Bangladesh as honorary executive board member.
