Tahmina Shirin

Virologist
Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research

Professor Tahmina Shirin is the Director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control & Research (IEDCR) and the National Influenza Centre (NIC) in Bangladesh. Professor Shirin is involved in the Hub’s research on human health in Bangladesh. As Chair of the Coordination Committee for One Health Secretariat in Bangladesh, she is responsible for coordinating the Hub’s One Health activities among government stakeholders. She leads on policy guidance and decision making for long-term sustainability and impact of the Hub. Professor Shirin’s experience in the field of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and immunology focuses on innate immune responses.
