Roshan Priyantha

Microbiologist
Department of Animal Production and Health

Dr Roshan Priyantha is principal scientist with the Hub in Sri Lanka, responsible for the Hub’s microbiological activities. He is head of the Division of Bacteriology at the Veterinary Research Institute (VRI) which is administrated by the Department of Animal Production and Health.

His research interests are in antimicrobial resistance, bacteriology and to develop diagnostic facilities, new vaccine to improve health of livestock and companion animals in the country. In addition, to minimise the zoonotic risk from livestock, companion animals and wildlife. He holds a PhD in veterinary science.
