Professor Nicola Lewis focuses on intellectually and practically leading investigations into avian influenza A viruses in poultry, ensuring delivery of both the novel scientific research and the critical capacity-building component among the Hub laboratories. She is Professor in One Health Evolutionary Biology and co-ordinator of the Livestock Production and Health research programme at the RVC. She is also Deputy Director of the OIE/FAO International Reference Laboratory for avian influenza, swine influenza and Newcastle disease at APHA.
