Alagesan Alagarsamy

Biologist
Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS)

Dr Alagesan Alagarsamy is a biologist specialising in microbial and molecular analyses of food-borne pathogens in the poultry industry. In the Hub, he is involved in the epidemiological, microbial, and molecular characterisation of Non-Typhoidal Salmonella. He works as Project Associate at Poultry Disease Diagnosis and Surveillance Laboratory (TANUVAS), Namakkal, Tamil Nadu. He completed his MSc and PhD research on semiochemicals for the eco-friendly management of banana stem borer. He also has expertise in poultry production, backyard poultry farming, and tick and tick-borne diseases.
